Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders

While pregnancy itself is not an independent risk factor for mental health illness, mood and anxiety disorders are a common concern among patients during pregnancy and within the first year postpartum.  Untreated, perinatal mental illness (PMI) can sometimes have devastating effects for pregnant individuals, their babies, and their families. In this online course, we review some of the key aspects of the new guidance and explore clinical scenarios for its application. The primary focus of both the guideline and this program is mood and anxiety disorders.
